Clear + Brilliant Laser Skin Resurfacing
Dull tone, early fine lines, enlarged pores, and the first signs of sun damage often appear long before anyone needs a stronger resurfacing treatment. Clear + Brilliant® is a gentle fractional laser designed to refresh the skin’s surface with minimal downtime, which makes it well suited to prevention and maintenance. Patients visit the Beverly Hills office from West Hollywood, Santa Monica, Brentwood, Century City, and across Los Angeles for Clear + Brilliant treatment.
Dr. Kami Parsa’s current research interests include skin repair and minimally invasive facial rejuvenation, and he founded Mendora, a company focused on nutrition for skin health and recovery. That interest in the skin as a living, healing organ shapes how he approaches maintenance treatments like Clear + Brilliant, which work by prompting the skin’s own renewal rather than forcing dramatic change. He is an oculoplastic and reconstructive surgeon with more than 20 years of clinical experience and an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the Keck School of Medicine of USC.
“Clear + Brilliant is about keeping healthy skin healthy. It will not replace a stronger laser for deep damage, but done regularly with good sun protection, it keeps the skin looking fresh.” — Dr. Kami Parsa
What Is Clear + Brilliant?
Clear + Brilliant is an FDA-cleared, non-ablative fractional laser made by Solta Medical. It creates microscopic treatment zones in the upper layers of the skin while leaving the surrounding skin intact, which prompts gradual renewal and collagen production without removing the skin surface. There are two handpieces:
- Original (1440 nm): Focuses on texture, fine lines, and pore size.
- Perméa (1927 nm): Focuses on uneven tone and pigment from sun exposure.
Because it is gentle, Clear + Brilliant is usually done as a series and then repeated periodically for maintenance.
What Clear + Brilliant Can Treat
- Early fine lines and uneven texture
- Dull or uneven skin tone
- Enlarged pores
- Mild sun damage and pigment
- Maintenance between stronger treatments
Deeper wrinkles, significant sun damage, and acne scars usually respond better to stronger options such as CO2 Skin Resurfacing, Morpheus8, or the Duplex® Procedure.
Is Clear + Brilliant Right for You?
Clear + Brilliant may be a good fit for adults who:
- Want to improve tone, texture, or pores with little downtime
- Are interested in prevention or maintenance
- Want a gentle introduction to laser treatment
- Are in good general health with realistic expectations
Clear + Brilliant can be used on a wide range of skin tones, though settings and handpiece choice are adjusted for darker skin to lower the risk of pigment changes. It is not appropriate if you have an active skin infection, open wounds, or active acne in the treatment area, or if you have used isotretinoin recently. Let your provider know about melasma, a history of cold sores, pregnancy, or recent sun exposure before treatment.
What to Expect During Clear + Brilliant Treatment
Your visit begins with a consultation with Dr. Parsa or licensed members of his clinical team to review your skin type and goals. The skin is cleansed and a numbing cream is applied. The laser handpiece is rolled across the skin, and most patients feel warmth and mild prickling. Protective eyewear is worn throughout treatment.
Treatment time is usually under 30 minutes after numbing. Expect redness and a mild sunburn feeling for a day or two, followed by a few days of dryness or light flaking as the skin renews. Most patients return to normal activities the same day and can wear makeup the next day. A series of about four to six sessions spaced a few weeks apart is common, followed by periodic maintenance. Daily sunscreen is essential to protect the result.
Risks and When to Seek Care
Common effects include temporary redness, swelling, dryness, and a rough or bronzed texture as treated skin sheds. Less common risks include acne flares, cold sore outbreaks, and darkening or lightening of the skin, particularly in darker skin tones. Contact the office if you notice blistering, crusting, signs of infection, or pigment changes that do not fade.
