Juvederm Treatments in Beverly Hills & Los Angeles
Juvéderm is a family of hyaluronic acid fillers, each designed for a different part of the face, from soft lip enhancement to deeper support for the cheeks and chin. In Beverly Hills, Dr. Kami Parsa uses Juvéderm products to restore lost volume and soften lines while keeping results in proportion with the rest of the face. Patients visit from West Hollywood, Santa Monica, Century City, and Culver City for dermal filler treatment planned by an eyelid and facial specialist.
Newsweek and Statista named Dr. Parsa one of America’s Best Plastic Surgeons for eyelid surgery in 2026, and his filler work grows out of that same focus on the area around the eyes. He lectures on periocular volume loss, including a framework he calls the “happy patient algorithm” for deciding when filler will satisfy a patient and when another approach would serve them better. With more than 20 years of clinical experience as an oculoplastic and reconstructive surgeon, he chooses the Juvéderm product, depth, and amount for each area with the whole face in view.
“A happy filler patient is usually one who was told the truth at the start: what filler can do, what it cannot, and whether it is the right tool at all.” — Dr. Kami Parsa
The Juvéderm Family of Fillers
Juvéderm fillers are made by Allergan Aesthetics. Each is a crosslinked hyaluronic acid gel, most contain lidocaine for comfort, and all can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if needed. The products differ in firmness and in their FDA-approved uses, all for adults over 21:
- Juvéderm® Ultra XC: Moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, lip augmentation, and lines around the mouth.
- Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC: Moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as smile lines.
- Volbella® XC: Lip augmentation, lines around the mouth, and hollows under the eyes.
- Vollure® XC: Moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as smile lines.
- Voluma® XC: Cheek and midface volume, chin augmentation, and temple hollowing.
Using a Juvéderm product outside its approved areas is off-label. Dr. Parsa will explain which product he recommends for each area and whether that use is approved or off-label.
What Juvéderm Can Treat
Juvéderm fillers are commonly used for:
- Smile lines and marionette lines
- Thin lips, uneven lips, and vertical lines above the lip
- Flattened cheeks and midface volume loss
- A less defined chin
- Carefully selected cases of under-eye hollowing
When hollowing under the eyes comes with bulging fat or loose skin, filler may not be the right answer. Dr. Parsa may recommend lower eyelid bag surgery instead. Learn more about fillers for lower eyelid bags and dark circles.
Your Juvéderm Treatment
Your visit begins with a consultation in which Dr. Parsa or licensed members of his clinical team evaluate your facial structure, skin quality, treatment history, and goals. Treatment usually takes 15 to 45 minutes depending on the number of areas, using a fine needle or blunt cannula. Results are visible right away, though swelling can make treated areas look fuller for several days.
Most people return to normal activities the same day. Avoid strenuous exercise, heat, and pressure on the treated area for about 24 hours. Depending on the product and area, results typically last from about 12 months to two years. Juvéderm is not appropriate if you have a history of severe allergies or anaphylaxis, an allergy to lidocaine or the proteins used in making the gel, or an active skin infection in the treatment area, and it is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Risks and When to Seek Care
Common side effects include swelling, bruising, redness, tenderness, firmness, and small bumps that usually resolve within one to two weeks. A rare but serious risk is accidental injection into or compression of a blood vessel, which can damage skin and, very rarely, affect vision. Call the office right away and seek emergency care if you notice vision changes, severe or worsening pain, or skin that turns pale, blotchy, or dusky after treatment.
