Restylane Injections in Beverly Hills & Los Angeles

Restylane fillers restore lost volume, soften smile lines, and add shape to the lips, cheeks, and chin without surgery. In Beverly Hills, Dr. Kami Parsa uses the Restylane family to match each area of the face with a gel designed for it, so results look natural at rest and in motion. Patients visit from Brentwood, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, and Century City for dermal filler treatment planned by an eyelid and facial specialist.

Choosing the right Restylane product starts with understanding how each gel behaves inside the tissue, and Dr. Parsa has studied exactly that. He has lectured on three-dimensional MRI assessment of hyaluronic acid fillers, which shows how these gels settle, spread, and hold water after injection. His interest in research began during his ophthalmology residency at USC’s Doheny Eye Institute, where he received the Doheny Resident Research Award. As an oculoplastic and reconstructive surgeon, he applies that knowledge to choosing the product, depth, and amount for each area.

“Each Restylane gel has its own personality. Some hold shape, some move with the face, and some are soft enough for the lips. Matching the gel to the area is half the result.” — Dr. Kami Parsa

The Restylane Family of Fillers

Restylane is a family of hyaluronic acid fillers made by Galderma. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the skin, and these crosslinked gels replace volume and support the skin where it has thinned or folded. Most Restylane products contain lidocaine for comfort, and all can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if needed. The Restylane family is FDA-approved for adults over 21, with each product approved for specific uses:

  • Restylane and Restylane-L: Moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as smile lines, and lip enhancement.
  • Restylane Kysse: Lip augmentation and lines around the mouth.
  • Restylane Lyft: Cheek augmentation, midface volume loss, facial folds, chin augmentation, and the back of the hands.
  • Restylane Contour: Cheek augmentation and midface contour.
  • Restylane Eyelight: Hollows under the eyes.
  • Restylane® Refyne: Moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as smile lines.
  • Restylane® Defyne: Deeper wrinkles and folds and chin augmentation.

Using a Restylane product outside its approved areas, such as along the jawline, is off-label. Dr. Parsa will explain which product he recommends for each area and whether that use is approved or off-label.

Is Restylane Right for You?

Restylane may be a good fit if you have smile lines, marionette lines, thin lips, flattened cheeks, or a less defined chin, and you want improvement without surgery. It is not appropriate if you have a history of severe allergies or anaphylaxis, an allergy to lidocaine or the proteins used in making the gel, a bleeding disorder, or an active skin infection in the treatment area. It is also not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. If your main concern is loose skin or bulging fat under the eyes rather than hollowing, lower eyelid bag surgery may be more effective than filler.

Your Restylane Treatment

Your visit begins with a consultation in which Dr. Parsa or licensed members of his clinical team evaluate your facial structure, skin quality, and goals. Treatment usually takes 15 to 30 minutes, using a fine needle or a blunt cannula depending on the area. Results are visible right away, though swelling can make the area look fuller for several days.

Most people return to normal activities the same day. Avoid strenuous exercise, heat, and pressure on the treated area for about 24 hours. Depending on the product and area, results typically last about 6 to 18 months. Restylane can be combined with BOTOX® to soften expression lines or with skin tightening when skin quality is also a concern.

Risks and When to Seek Care

Common side effects include swelling, bruising, redness, tenderness, and small bumps that usually resolve within one to two weeks. A rare but serious risk is accidental injection into or compression of a blood vessel, which can damage skin and, very rarely, affect vision. Call the office right away and seek emergency care if you notice vision changes, severe or worsening pain, or skin that turns pale, blotchy, or dusky after treatment.

Words cannot express how thankful and appreciative I am to have found you. I am deeply grateful for you, for your generosity and caring nature as pertaining to my medical condition. As you know, I was apprehensive about having further surgery, but you are and have been reassuring and confident in the type of procedure you would perform in order to fix my eyelid from the beginning. The fact that you are not pushy and gave me the time and space to make the decision on my own allowed me to prepare myself mentally and emotionally, that really made a difference. Besides from that, your continuous generosity made me confident that you were the right doctor for the task at hand. You will never know how appreciative I am of that. I would also like to let you know how pleased I am with the results of the surgery. I have not felt this comfortable in years. My parents are also very grateful since this was my 14th surgery. You have a true gift. Thank you again for your patience, time, concern, and overall care. I pray that God continues to give you strength to help people who truly need life-changing medical procedures.

Dr. Parsa is an amazing doctor. Warm and very caring. I had my eyes done a couple years ago and I couldn't be happier. Dr. Parsa likes to take the conservative approach which I greatly appreciate in a doctor when it comes to cosmetic surgery. I also go to Dr. Parsa for Botox and he always knows just the right amount. The staff in Dr. Parsa's office are all terrific!
