Why Lips Change and What Lip Augmentation Addresses
Lip augmentation can help with several different concerns, and the plan depends on which apply to you:
Naturally thin lips: Lip fullness is largely genetic, and some people have always had thin lips or an upper lip that is much smaller than the lower.
Age related volume loss: The lips lose volume, and the border between the lip and skin becomes less defined over time.
Lines around the mouth: Vertical lines above the upper lip form from volume loss, sun damage, smoking, and repeated pursing.
Asymmetry: Uneven lips can be natural or result from injury, scarring, or previous filler.
Downturned corners: Loss of support at the corners of the mouth can create a sad expression at rest.
Previously overfilled lips: Filler that has migrated above the lip border or created a heavy, unnatural shape may need to be dissolved before any new treatment.
How Lip Augmentation Is Evaluated
The consultation looks at the size and balance of the upper and lower lips, the lip border, the corners of the mouth, and the surrounding skin. Dr. Parsa or a licensed member of his clinical team will ask about prior lip treatments, cold sore history, allergies, dental work, and medications. Lip Augmentation Options in Beverly Hills
Most lip augmentation today uses hyaluronic acid fillers, which are FDA-approved for lip augmentation in adults over 21, look and feel soft, and can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if needed. Each linked page covers the product in detail:

Treatment usually takes under an hour with a numbing cream or dental block. Swelling peaks over the first two days and settles within about a week, so the final shape is judged after two weeks. Lip filler results typically last about 6 to 12 months, depending on the product and how quickly your body breaks it down. Starting conservatively and adding more at a follow-up visit is usually the safest route to a natural result.
Risks and When to Seek Care
Swelling, bruising, and tenderness are common after lip filler. Other possible effects include lumps, asymmetry, filler visible above the lip border, and a cold sore outbreak in people who get them, so let the team know if you have that history. Filler can rarely block a blood vessel, and the lips have a rich blood supply. Call the office right away and seek emergency care if you notice vision changes, severe or worsening pain, or skin that turns pale, blotchy, or dusky after treatment.

I have been bothered for years by my left eye feeling "tired", manifesting in a a "droop". My ophthalmologist diagnosed it as "ptosis" (drooping eyelid), and referred me to Dr Parsa for a consult. Dr. Parsa is far and beyond the best surgeon anyone can be lucky enough to find. He is not only a master in his field but also an artist with a scalpel. I had previously underwent surgery with another doctor and had awful results. Uneven lids, left with ptosis, and massive amounts of scar tissue that caused more drooping in one eye. I had seen other surgeons hoping to get some help as my eyes had looked so bad that I had become depressed and my quality of life was massively impacted. Some surgeons I saw seemed to be in a rush, some dismissed my concerns, and some were so arrogant I felt humiliated. Finally I found Dr. Parsa, I had come across his videos on YouTube and listened to countless testimonials that were so similar to my situation. After meeting with him I was positive I found the right guy! He is patient, genuine, sincere, and professional.
