Much of Dr. Parsa’s filler experience comes from the other side of the treatment: diagnosing and correcting problems that develop after filler is placed. Types of Dermal Fillers
Fillers differ in what they are made of, how firm they are, and how long they last. Dr. Parsa or licensed members of his clinical team choose the product based on the area, the depth of the concern, and your skin.
Hyaluronic Acid Fillers
Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule found naturally in the skin, where it binds water and supports volume. Hyaluronic acid fillers are gels made from a purified, crosslinked form of this molecule. Their main safety advantage is that they can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if the result needs adjusting or a complication occurs.

Collagen-Stimulating Fillers
These fillers are not hyaluronic acid, so they cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Instead of simply adding volume, they prompt the body to build new collagen over time.
Safety and When to Seek Care
Common side effects include swelling, bruising, tenderness, and small bumps that usually settle within days to a couple of weeks. A rare but serious risk of any filler is accidental injection into or compression of a blood vessel, which can damage skin and, very rarely, affect vision. Call the office right away and seek emergency care if you notice vision changes, severe or worsening pain, or skin that turns pale, blotchy, or dusky after treatment. Most fillers used today are hyaluronic acid gels, such as the Restylane and Juvéderm families, which can be dissolved if needed. Collagen-stimulating fillers such as Radiesse and Sculptra work differently and cannot be dissolved.
