Xeomin Injections in Beverly Hills & Los Angeles

Xeomin softens frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet by relaxing the muscles that create them. In Beverly Hills, Dr. Kami Parsa uses Xeomin for patients who want a smoother upper face that still moves and expresses naturally. Patients travel from West Hollywood, Brentwood, and across Los Angeles for non-surgical rejuvenation planned by an eyelid and facial specialist.

Xeomin is FDA-approved not only for cosmetic lines but also for blepharospasm, an involuntary spasm of the eyelid muscles, a reminder of how closely neurotoxins and eyelid medicine are connected. Dr. Parsa comes from that same field. He completed his ophthalmology residency at USC’s Doheny Eye Institute, is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and serves as an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. His practice is devoted exclusively to reconstructive, revisional, and cosmetic treatment of the eyelids and surrounding structures, which shapes how he doses and places every neurotoxin near the eyes. Learn more about Dr. Parsa’s background.

“The muscles around the eyes do more than create wrinkles. They protect the eye and hold the eyelids in place, so every Xeomin treatment near them starts with respect for the work they do.” — Dr. Kami Parsa

What Is Xeomin?

Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxinA) is a botulinum toxin type A injectable made by Merz Aesthetics. Like other neurotoxins, it temporarily blocks the nerve signals that tell a targeted muscle to contract, so the lines formed by that muscle soften. Its manufacturing process filters out the accessory proteins found in some other botulinum toxin products, leaving only the active ingredient.

The FDA first approved Xeomin in 2011 for moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows. In July 2024, that approval expanded to moderate to severe upper facial lines in adults, which covers forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet treated at the same visit. Other cosmetic uses, such as bunny lines, lip lines, or neck bands, are off-label, and Dr. Parsa will explain whether a proposed use is approved or off-label during your consultation.

Why Some Patients Choose Xeomin

Xeomin works much like BOTOX® and Dysport, and results are similar for most people. A few features lead some patients to prefer it:

  • Fewer ingredients: Xeomin contains no accessory proteins. Some physicians believe this may lower the chance of developing antibodies that weaken results over time, although this kind of resistance is uncommon at cosmetic doses and studies have not settled whether one product prevents it better than another.
  • Approval for the full upper face: Xeomin is FDA-approved for treating forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet together.
  • A different option: Patients who feel another neurotoxin has worn off quickly sometimes try Xeomin. Switching does not always change results, and Dr. Parsa will discuss other reasons a response may have changed.

Is Xeomin Right for You?

During your consultation, Dr. Parsa evaluates your muscle activity, skin quality, and eyelid and brow position. Xeomin may be a good fit for:

  • Adults with moderate to severe frown lines, forehead lines, or crow’s feet
  • People who want to soften expression lines without surgery
  • Patients who prefer a formulation without accessory proteins

Xeomin is not appropriate if you are allergic to any botulinum toxin product or its ingredients, or if you have an infection at the planned injection site. It is also not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding or for people with certain neuromuscular disorders. If loose eyelid skin or a low brow is the main concern, a surgical option such as upper eyelid blepharoplasty may give you a better result.

Your Xeomin Treatment and Results

Treatment is performed by Dr. Parsa or licensed members of his clinical team and usually takes 10 to 15 minutes. A very fine needle is used, and a topical numbing cream is available if needed. Most people describe the injections as a series of quick pinches.

Most patients return to normal activities right away, avoiding rubbing the area, lying down, and strenuous exercise for a few hours. Results usually begin to show within several days and continue to develop over about two weeks. They typically last about three to four months. Treatments should not be repeated more often than every three months, and your provider will help you plan a schedule that keeps results consistent.

Risks and When to Seek Care

Common side effects include headache, mild bruising, redness, and swelling at the injection sites. Less commonly, Xeomin can cause a temporary drooping eyelid or brow, eyelid swelling, or dry eye, particularly when crow’s feet are treated. Like all botulinum toxin products, Xeomin carries an FDA boxed warning about the rare spread of toxin effect beyond the injection site, which can occur hours to weeks after treatment. Seek emergency care right away if you develop trouble swallowing, speaking, or breathing, or generalized muscle weakness.

Why Choose Dr. Parsa for Xeomin

Neurotoxin injections near the eyes are small procedures with real anatomical stakes. Patients choose Dr. Parsa for his surgical training and his conservative, natural style.

  • Fellowship Training at Bascom Palmer: He completed a two-year oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at the University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
  • Eyelid Complication Expertise: Because he surgically treats drooping eyelids, he understands how to avoid them and how to manage them if they occur. Learn more about ptosis.
  • Physician Educator: He founded Core Aesthetics, which trains physicians in advanced aesthetic and oculoplastic techniques.
  • Recognized in Media: He has appeared on CNN, NBC, and Discovery Channel.
  • Conservative Dosing: Treatment plans aim for a rested, natural look rather than a frozen one.

Words cannot express how thankful and appreciative I am to have found you. I am deeply grateful for you, for your generosity and caring nature as pertaining to my medical condition. As you know, I was apprehensive about having further surgery, but you are and have been reassuring and confident in the type of procedure you would perform in order to fix my eyelid from the beginning. The fact that you are not pushy and gave me the time and space to make the decision on my own allowed me to prepare myself mentally and emotionally, that really made a difference. Besides from that, your continuous generosity made me confident that you were the right doctor for the task at hand. You will never know how appreciative I am of that. I would also like to let you know how pleased I am with the results of the surgery. I have not felt this comfortable in years. My parents are also very grateful since this was my 14th surgery. You have a true gift. Thank you again for your patience, time, concern, and overall care. I pray that God continues to give you strength to help people who truly need life-changing medical procedures.

Dr. Parsa is an amazing doctor. Warm and very caring. I had my eyes done a couple years ago and I couldn't be happier. Dr. Parsa likes to take the conservative approach which I greatly appreciate in a doctor when it comes to cosmetic surgery. I also go to Dr. Parsa for Botox and he always knows just the right amount. The staff in Dr. Parsa's office are all terrific!
