How Long After Getting an Eyelift Will I See the Results?
Before you plan surgery for droopy eyelids, or blepharoplasty, you want to the peace of mind that you’ll see the type of results that you’re looking for.
Modern eyelift procedures in Beverly Hills are conservative and low-risk. So recovery time is minimal, letting you get back out there to show off your new look with little down time.
Blepharoplasty Recovery Time
An eyelift is a procedure in which our experienced eye surgeon removes excess fat and skin from the eyelids. This tightens the skin and restores the look of elasticity. People opt for this treatment to combat the effects of aging or a hereditary “saggy-eyed” look.
But altering the eye this way does take a small toll on your skin, so you will need time to heal.
Plan to stay home for about a week after your surgery to allow for full recovery. It’s normal to have mild swelling and even some bruising during this time. Your recovery will be fast and successful if you follow a few tips:
- Get lots of rest and avoid strenuous activity
- Plan a staycation – stock your home ahead of time with necessary items if you don’t have anyone living with you who can help with grocery runs
- Apply a cold compress to the surgical site and keep your head elevated
- Use eye drops and prescriptions as directed
You may experience some discomfort during the day, but nothing worse than the sensation of a sunburn.
When Will Your Eye Look Normal?
Although everyone heals a little differently, you should easily be back to your normal self (but better!) within weeks. Most people take a week off of work and get back to normal activity after two weeks.
