Our Beverly Hills oculoplastic surgeon understands that not everyone is keen on having surgery…and that’s okay. For those people that desire younger looking eyes but don’t want to go “under the knife,” CO2 laser resurfacing can help.
This procedure can tighten the skin around the eyes, and eliminate some wrinkles, giving you the appearance of an eyelid lift.
How Does Fractional CO2 Laser Work?
The laser beams penetrate through deep layers of the skin, pushing out the old damaged tissues and replacing them with new ones. The laser also gives off heat, which allows tightening of the skin.
What to Expect
The procedure takes about 45 minutes to one hour to complete. Depending on your skin type, you may need one to two treatments, which will be 6 to 12 months apart. People with very dark skin may not benefit as well from this procedure.
After each treatment your recovery time will be 5 to 7 days. During this period there will likely be some swelling and itching. You can use an ointment or cold compress for relief.
2 to 3 days post-op, you’ll be able to return to work, but makeup should be mineral based and kept to a minimum.
